It would be more accurate to refer to the actual measurements.
The size is measured while the item is laid flat.

Length
The length from the back collar to the hem.
Chest width
Armpit to armpit length
Hem length
Length from shoulder seam to end of sleeve (for raglan sleeves, length from armpit to end of sleeve)
Bottoms size chart
All bottom sizes are listed as actual sizes.

Waist
While it is laid flat, measure the width of the waist and double it.
length
The length is measured from the armpit to the hem when the garment is laid flat.
Please use this as a reference by measuring a shirt that fits you in the same way with a tape measure and comparing it with the detailed sizes of other products.
