MORNING OF THE EARTH
MORNING OF THE EARTH
In 1970, when filming for Morning Off the Sea began, the world was in the midst of upheaval, with the anti-Vietnam War movement, anti-racism, gender equality, and environmental destruction issues that had been brewing since the mid-1960s.
A short hoof revolution also began in surfing, with hoofs that were over nine feet long before 1966 being shorter than five feet by 1970.
Nat Yank, who wanted to escape his position as World Champ, and Chris Flock, who wanted to pursue a simple life in a treetop overlooking the waves, appeared on the scene, and these men influenced many young people at the time to leave the city and head for the country, becoming the forerunners of the Highland Hayhome movement.
Also making the name of Hari Island known around the world were Rusty Miller, the US national champion, who was the first surfer in the world to attack Uluwatu, and 15-year-old Steven Cooney, who had dropped out of high school.
The legendary Michael Heatherson's brilliant and perfect lines.
The film features the best of the best, including Terry Fitzcherart, the emperor of the heat, Shelley Roges, and Harry Kanaiahuni, who are attacking the North Shore of Hawaii.
I think the reason why "Morning Off Seas" has been popular across generations and eras is because it reflects the ideal lifestyle of surfers.
The film conveys that if you plan your life around surfing, you will feel truly at home and in harmony with nature. It was released in theaters in 1972. This film, which reflected the times, was not only popular among surfers, but also among ordinary people who loved the sea and sought freedom.
The soundtrack was a huge hit, winning numerous awards, and the single "Open Your Heart" topped the charts for three consecutive weeks in Australia.
