NO STATIC IN THE STARS

A collaboration between Andrew Kidman and Spank Records.

This is the latest collection of works by Andrew Kidman, the genius director who led the way with "Litmus" in 1997, "Glasslove" in 2003, and "Last Hope" in 2009.

Andrew, a filmmaker, surfer, singer-songwriter, painter, printmaker, shaper and extremely distinctive surfer, recorded the soundtrack for this work with Spank Records founder Aaron Curnow.

This is a production process unique to Andrew, who places great importance on music.

Andrew weaves together new footage from American artist Peter Halasz, Australian rising star Nicholas Harding, veterans John Frank and Mick Water, Greg Weber's brother Monty, Patrick Treftz, Ava Warbrick and Ryan Thomas into each section to present surfing as art.

With the ocean as its motif, the album features unique surfers such as Oscar Wright, Craig Anderson, Ryan Burch, and Ellis Erickson.

This series, which consists of 14 episodes, is different from the usual action surf film and has been described in various ways, including as a documentary, art house, and oceanography.

In their home country of Australia, a live tour began in December 2017 and was a huge success.
