MOREY POPE SURFBOARDS/7'5" MC TAVISH TRACKER
This is Molly Pope's MacTavish Tracker. By far the rarest board.
And I don't think you'll ever find conditions like this again anywhere in the world.
Morey-Pope Surfboards was founded in Southern California in 1965 by Tom Morey and Carl Pope. It is a legendary surfboard brand that is said to be one of the most influential brands in the history of surfboards.
Among them, the MacTavish Tracker is a model that was born in 1968, and it can be said that this board is the model that ignited the shortboard revolution.
Between 1968 and 1980, surfboards around the world changed in an instant from longboards to transition boards (mid-length).
Meanwhile, Tom and Carl, with advice from MacTavish and Dick Brewer, developed and released this model.
The impact it had on the market at the time was so great that it is said that the MacTavish Trucker influenced many shapers thereafter and revolutionized surfboard design.
It is also said to be one of Morey-Pope's masterpieces.
As you can see, this board is in very good condition and, although there are a few repairs, it is in such great condition that it's hard to believe it's over 50 years old.
Naturally, it is possible to ride it as is, but as it is a board with such an aura, it would make quite an impactful decoration if displayed in the living room as a hanging board.
Most of the time, the screws on this type of fin box are stuck and cannot be removed, but with this board, it was easy to remove. That's also an indication of how good the condition of this board is.
Yes, this WAVE SET fin system, developed by the Response Group in the 1960s, is the first removable fin system in the history of surfing, and was developed by the two people we are introducing today, Tom Morley and Carl Pope.
This is a superb Morey-Pope . This is not an old, worn out board.
It's a valuable vintage board, The price is a bit high, but you'll definitely feel a special aura and satisfaction that you can't get from today's boards that are readily available.
