We are a family-run company founded in 1971 in Sahuayo, Michoacán, Mexico, a city famous for its Huarache production.

Most of the companies that make huarache in this region sell them wholesale for sale within Mexico and as souvenirs, but Aztec 's founder, Marta Granados , worked hard from an early stage to improve the quality of the sandals, moving away from being just souvenir-level sandals for overseas markets.As a result, Aztec has now become the company that comes to mind when talking about huarache in Sahuayo.
